Re: exercise you have to register a dinghy or tender?
I think it depends on what country your registered in. Here in NJ if it has an engine you need to register it and accept state numbers on the hull.

in most states T/T xxxx doesn't count, they need to be registered.
you need to expect up your habitation country rules to be certain.
there is something in teh CFRs about tenders to documented vessels merely with some strict restrictions on what you can do...i dont' recall the exact words merely y'all tin can only use the tender to load and unload passengers straight to shore. Not worth trying to argue it with local water cops who volition simply go past their state regulations.

in florida, you need to annals your tender if information technology has an engine... yous may go away with it for a while but sooner or after you'll run into a watercop who volition write you lot up. not worth trying to salvage the $xx or $thirty a year

Re: practise you accept to register a dinghy or tender?
T/T in near states only allows the tender to be used as a shuttle to and from the vessel. If you run downwards the river and stop at a local eating place and then become to a small isle you are over it's supposed limits of use. Why have limits if registering it is not a big cost.
It's easier to give the state the money and proceed Moby Fife at bay. If you already registered the boat and paid the sales tax you need to make sure they understand this was part of the other transaction and not get charged once again.

Re: do you lot have to register a dinghy or tender?
In South Florida the local marine patrol, the USCG , the FWC(Fish and Wild fauna Commission) are always looking for dinghies without registration numbers and it is required to annals the dinghy.
If you bought the dinghy new you should have paid tax and yous should have a MSO and invoice to register the dinghy. If you bought it used you will need a bill of sale and a copy of the registration from the previous possessor if it was purchased in a state without boat titles. In Florida y'all volition demand a title to register the boat. If you do not accept a championship yous might accept to contact the seller for them to go a title that they can then sign over to yous. This is such a common problem Florida has a single form to get a title and transfer the buying all in one grade.

Normally T/T ******* is used for dinghys that travel/operate outside of the US. I oasis't heard of a State that will let the use of it.About all of the boats hither on the westward coast that routinely travel into United mexican states use that, and I've never heard of an upshot from whatever strange countries by whatsoever boaters.
